Hilda Smith is the lead artist and co-founder of Hera Art. She set up the project (originally called Hera Products) with her friend Eric in 1998. As well as running the centre, she teaches art classes to children and adults and produces art herself. She holds a degree in Art and Design.

Vivian Davies teaches card making and jewellery. Viv also runs the bingo on Tuesday afternoons at the Blaen-y-Pant Centre.

Jeanette McNamee is Hilda's treasurer and co-ordinator of group events.

Tina Rae is Hera's earliest student and is still a member. She also acts as unofficial scribe for the centre, writing blurbs and even some of this website.

Richard Davies is the Secretary of the Blaen-y-Pant Centre and doubles as Hilda's "PR man". He handles general enquiries and bookings, and organises special events such as exhibitions and group outings.

Elinor Griffiths has been doing art with Hilda since the age of eight. She is now 19 and has had many commissions and sold quite a few pieces. She recently won an award at Hobbycraft and her pictures are exhibited there. She helps Hilda every Saturday to run the children's art classes. She has just completed a foundation year in Art and Design and in September will be beginning a three-year degree course in Fine Art.

Rose Amos is a regular student and supports all activities that go on within the group.

Leia Carns is a new young member of our class who is from Ireland. Leia has lots of ideas with a huge imagination and will be assisting with the Facebook page.

Phil Randall has been a long time friend and regular at Hera Art. He owns Cards of Quality, an online gallery showcasing Welsh Art and offering for sale premium quality greeting cards, giclée art prints and handmade magnets.

Departed Friends

Eric Wright set up Hera with Hilda in 1998. Prior to retiring, Professor Eric Wright, DSc, MD, FRCP, FRCPath, was a pathologist. He sadly passed away in February 2009.

Richard Acreman was also an artist and helped run Hera. He sadly passed away in September 2014.
